Lil Sluggers Program
Lil Sluggers is a child development program created to introduce children ages 2-5 to the game of baseball. Lil Sluggers classes develop important baseball skills such as throwing, catching, hitting, and base running. Developmentally appropriate equipment and games are used to teach your child the game of baseball in a fun, exciting, and positive environment.
Lil Sluggers has small class sizes, maximum 6 students per class.

Each Lil Sluggers class lasts 45-50 minutes.

Lil Sluggers Class Descriptions
2-Year Olds - Mascots (parent/caregiver participation)
The Mascots curriculum is designed to have the children begin their baseball experience in a fun environment that also introduces simple basics of the game.
Objectives:

Simple base running and base recognition.

Hitting; holding the bat properly, focusing on making contact with the ball off of a tee.

Throwing in an overhand motion.

Fielding, with emphasis on using two hands and not falling down.
-
Fitness and agility.
-
Improved hand/eye coordination.
-
An introduction to social skills such as following simple instructions and taking turns.
3-Year Olds - Minors (with parent participation as needed)
The Minors curriculum is designed to have the children continue their baseball experience in a fun environment that also reinforces the fundamentals of the game.
Objectives:
- Simple base running and base recognition. Hitting, focusing on proper stance and level swing to make contact with the ball off the tee. Introduction to hitting from a pitch. Throwing…point, step, and throw with proper motion and aim. Fielding, with emphasis on using two hands, staying in front of the ball and not falling down. Improved hand/eye coordination. Understanding straightforward game situations, such as throwing a player out. Fitness and agility.
- Advancement of social skills such as following instructions, taking turns and teamwork.
4 Year Olds - Majors
The Majors curriculum expands on the skills learned in the 3 year old program, with slightly more technical instruction and game situations.
Objectives:
- Proper base running and sliding techniques.
- Hitting, focusing on proper stance, level swing, and follow through off the tee. Begin hitting from a pitch by the coach.
- Throwing…point, step, and throw with proper motion for distance and accuracy.
- Fielding, with emphasis on using two hands, staying in front of the ball.
- Catching pop flies with two hands.
- Learning various offensive and defensive game situations
- Fitness and agility
5-Year Olds - Hall of Famers
The Hall of Famers curriculum is designed to have the children continue improving their fundamentals skills while preparing them for their next level of participation, organized tee-ball.
Objectives:
- Base recognition and proper base running techniques.
- Five steps of hitting with focus on proper form including full swing and hip rotation.
- Correct throwing mechanics emphasizing accuracy and distance.
- Proper fielding technique, keeping their body in front of the ball.
- Using the baseball glove for fielding of line drives and pop fly catches.
- Teamwork.
- Game situations.
- Fitness and agility
6-7 Year Olds - Varsity Sluggers

The Varsity Sluggers curriculum is designed to have the children perfect their knowledge of the fundamental skills of baseball by participating in fun, organized tee-ball games weekly. In addition, this curriculum introduces “Coach Pitch” baseball.
Objectives:
- Perfect base recognition and proper base running techniques.
- Master the 5 steps of hitting off of a tee.
- Introduce the 5 steps of hitting a coach-pitched ball.
- Throwing accuracy and distance.
- Fielding techniques, learning which base to throw to and why.
- Mastery of catching techniques.
- Position names.
- Teamwork.
- Sportsmanship.
- Game situations.
- Fitness and agility.
Lil' Multi-Sport Camp
Lil' Multisport Camps are for kids 3-7 years old. Camp will include soccer, tee-ball, basketball, and in-line skating. Camps are focused on child development as well as instruction.

Registration Information and Fees
Enrollment is first come, first serve. You may register through our "Member Log-in" (listed above) or you can call or stop by the Front Office. Payment is required to secure a spot.
**New Reduced Rate**
- Cost per 11 week session is $150
- Cost per 11 week session for *Dreamsports Player Members is $130
- One FREE class included in the Summer Session
Important Information regarding Registration Fees and/or Dreamsports Memberbship Fees: A $20 Lil Sluggers Registration Fee is required at the time of registration. Registrations are good for one year from the date paid. *Dreamsports also offers a Dreamsports Player Membership: $40 for Individual or $100 for Family. Only one type of registration/membership is required for registration.
Dreamsports Center Refund Policy: All refunds requested before the start of the session will be subject to a $25 non-refundable processing fee. Refunds requested after the start of the session are subject to a $50 processing fee. Plus, participants must pay for all classes up to the date of cancellation. All cancellations must be received in writing.

Make Up Policy for Lil Sluggers Classes
In order to be eligible for a make up class, participants must notify Dreamsports Center of their absence at least 24 hours before the missed class. Participants are welcome to notify Dreamsports Center by e-mailing or calling the Director of Child Development Programs, Bianca Owens. Make up class days and times will be based on availability. If we can not accommodate you for a make up class, you will receive 1 free hour of Open Gym time to be used within the session. Click the following link for Open Gym Information.
